I am often asked how I got started with Stampin’ Up!, so I thought I’d share my story with you.
It all started Christmas 2007. I am a flight attendant for a major carrier and was working a three-day trip over Christmas. Our first officer gave the whole crew these cute little gifts his wife had made. Inside was a baggy of homemade cookies that he and his children had baked, along with a gift card to Starbucks. Well I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive this handmade gift! I began asking all kinds of questions and he explained that his wife was a demonstrator for a company called Stampin’ Up!. I had never heard of this company, and he explained that his wife taught card making classes in their basement.
I finished my trip and could not wait to get home to do some research online about this “Stampin’ Up!” company. I learned all about what Stampin’ Up! offered and thought to myself, “I can do this,” as I had been with another direct sales company before, but the timing was not right. 2008 began shortly after, and in the back of my mind I couldn’t get Stampin’ Up! out of my thoughts. Flash forward to September… I went to the Stampin’ Up! website and searched for a demonstrator in my area. So, I did my search and several demonstrators popped up. I looked at each ones website, but only one had a lot of stuff on her calendar. This told me that she was active in her business and this is the one I reached out to. I called Debbie, introduced myself, explained that I’d like to have a catalog and if she had one I’d love to stop by and pick one up. I told her that I was very interested in signing up to become a demonstrator and the rest is history.
I had never been to a home workshop, class, stamp camp or club, but I knew I wanted to make Stampin’ Up! a part of my life. I’m so thankful to that first officer and his wife for giving me such a heart felt gift. What a blessing it was to receive and what a blessing Stampin’ Up! has been to my life. To the lady who made this, if you see this picture and you remember making it for your husband’s crew, please contact me.
